Device compatibility
Stud Finder runs on iPhone 8 and newer, and on Android phones with a magnetometer. Every modern iPhone ships with the sensor the app needs; on Android, sensor quality varies by device, so detection is most reliable on flagship models. It works on standard drywall-over-wood walls; it does not work on concrete or brick because those walls have no studs.
