Privacy policy

This policy describes how Appcellent Yazılım Hizmetleri A.Ş. ("Appcellent", "we", "us") handles information in connection with the Stud Finder — Wall Wood Detector application for iOS and Android (the "App") and the website at thestudfinder.app (the "Site"). Our goal is simple: we collect as little as possible, and we never sell personal data.

1. Information collected by the App

Sensor readings. The App reads your device's magnetometer (and, on iOS, motion sensors) to help locate metal fasteners and studs behind walls. All sensor readings are processed on your device in real time. They are not stored, transmitted or shared.

Flashlight. The App can switch on your phone's flashlight. On Android this requires the camera permission, which the App uses only to control the torch. The App does not take photos or record video. The App does not request access to your contacts, photos, microphone or location.

Usage analytics. The App records product analytics events — which screens are opened, which features are used, the App version and platform, and subscription lifecycle events — so we can understand which parts of the App are useful. These events are tied to a pseudonymous device identifier (on iOS, Apple's identifier for vendor; on Android, the app-scoped Android ID), not to your name or email. The services involved are described in section 4.

How you found the App. To measure our advertising, the App records whether it was installed from an Apple Search Ads campaign (on iOS) or from a Google Ads campaign (on Android). The iOS App does not show the App Tracking Transparency prompt and does not access the advertising identifier (IDFA).

Standard App Store telemetry (crash reports, download counts, aggregate usage statistics) may be collected by Apple under Apple's own privacy policy. We receive only aggregated, anonymized reports and cannot tie them back to an individual. On Android, Google Play may collect similar statistics under Google's privacy policy.

2. Information collected by the Site

The Site is a static marketing website. It does not require registration. Your browser makes standard requests (HTML, CSS, images, fonts) served via our content delivery network (Cloudflare), which may process your IP address for abuse-prevention and routing purposes under Cloudflare's privacy terms.

We use Cloudflare Web Analytics, which collects aggregate page-view information without using cookies or fingerprinting and without transmitting IP addresses to us. Google Analytics 4 and OpenAI's measurement pixel are described in section 4.

3. Contact form and email

If you email us at support@thestudfinder.app, we will see your email address and the content of your message. We use that information only to respond and retain it no longer than necessary.

4. Third-party services

Used by the App:

• Apple App Store. Distribution and in-app purchases on iOS are handled by Apple under Apple's privacy policy.
• Google Play. On Android, distribution, in-app purchases and the in-app rating prompt are handled by Google under Google's privacy policy.
• RevenueCat. Manages subscription state and entitlements. It receives a pseudonymous app user identifier (on iOS, derived from the identifier for vendor; on Android, from the app-scoped Android ID), purchase events from Apple or Google, your IP address and device identifiers, and — on iOS — the Apple Search Ads attribution token, in order to tell the App whether your subscription is active and to attribute purchases to campaigns. • Mixpanel. Product analytics inside the App — which screens and features are used, App version and platform, and subscription events. Events are tied to the same pseudonymous identifier rather than your name or email. Mixpanel may derive an approximate location (country or city) from your IP address. See Mixpanel's privacy policy.
• Apple Search Ads attribution (iOS). The iOS App asks Apple's AdServices framework for an attribution token and sends it to Apple to learn whether the install came from an Apple Search Ads campaign. Apple returns campaign-level information only; no advertising identifier is used. See Apple's privacy policy.
• AppsFlyer (Android only). Install attribution — telling us which campaign an install came from. It processes device and campaign identifiers, including the Android advertising ID where your device settings allow it. You can reset or delete the advertising ID in your Android settings. See AppsFlyer's privacy policy. The iOS App does not include AppsFlyer.

Used by the Site:

• Cloudflare. Hosting, content delivery and cookieless web analytics for the Site. See Cloudflare's privacy policy.
• Self-hosted fonts. Typefaces are bundled with the site — no third-party font CDN is used.
• Google Analytics 4. Aggregate, IP-anonymized web analytics (page views and a custom download_click event for "Download the App" buttons). No advertising features are enabled. Google may set first-party analytics cookies; you can opt out by enabling Do Not Track in your browser or by using Google's opt-out add-on.
• OpenAI Ads Measurement Pixel. When you arrive from an ad shown in ChatGPT, OpenAI's pixel records page views and clicks on the "Download the App" buttons so we can measure whether the ad worked. It stores a first-party cookie with an ad-click identifier; details are governed by OpenAI's privacy policy.

5. Children

The App and the Site are general-audience products. They are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

6. Your rights

Depending on your jurisdiction (for example, the EU/UK under GDPR or California under CCPA), you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or port personal data we hold about you, and to object to certain processing. Because we collect so little, most requests can be fulfilled quickly. Email support@thestudfinder.app to exercise any of these rights.

7. Security

We take reasonable measures to protect the limited information we process. No system is perfectly secure; please contact us immediately if you believe you have found a vulnerability.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by a new "Last updated" date at the top of the page.
